Minister asks youth to donate blood

Awareness required for sensitizing people regarding blood donation. Donating blood is the most noble cause and the youth should take lead in volunteering blood to save lives.
This was stated by Federal Minister for Capital Administration and Development (CAD) Nazar M.Gondal here on Wednesday. He was addressing a seminar held at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), in connection with World Blood Donor Day.
“There could be no greater noble cause than donating blood to save precious lives. We need to increase awareness and motivate public to voluntarily donate blood. People are usually scared and hesitate to donate blood, which needs to be corrected”, said the minister.
Gondal said that it was PPP’s visionary step to encourage its workers across the country to pay tribute to their martyred leader Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto by donating blood at her death anniversary. He directed the authorities concerned to speed up the process for establishing a modern blood transfusion plant in the capital area.
He thanked the Republic of Germany for funding the proposed project. Gondal asked the PIMS authorities to ensure completion of the cardiology ward in time. Secretary CAAD. Imtiaz Inayat Elahi also addressed the gathering.
