Punjab Governor Sardar Abdul Latif Khan Khosa said Pakistan can no longer afford the politics of hatred and revenge and there is a dire need to promote a culture of tolerance and brotherhood in the country.
Khosa made these remarks while addressing the officers and staff of the Pakistani Embassy in Berlin, said a press release issued from Berlin on Wednesday.
Sardar Latif Khosa is on an official visit to Germany to attend the World Universities’ Chancellors Forum held at Dresden University. He is representing Pakistan as the chancellor of 40 universities of Punjab.
Khosa actively participated in the day-long deliberations and was elected as a member of the Executive Committee comprising 10 members, two each from the five continents.
He effectively presented the issues being faced by the developing countries due to environmental degradation as result of rapid industrial pollution and fast depleting natural resources.
The Punjab governor urged the officials of the embassy to work for creating goodwill for Pakistan among the people of Germany and for bettering Pakistan’s tarnished image.
He also exhorted them to enhance their interaction with the Pakistani Diaspora living in Germany and facilitate them in the solution of their individual and collective problems.
Earlier, Pakistani Ambassador to Germany, Abdul Basit welcomed the Punjab governor and thanked him for sparing the time to visit the embassy and interacting with its officials.
He briefed the governor about Pak-German relations and informed that both the countries have reached an understanding on strategic dialogues and a memorandum of understanding is likely to be signed on the eve of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar’s visit to Germany.
