Edhi distributes aid amongst fire-affected villagers

The head of Edhi Foundation Abdul Sattar Edhi distributed cheques for the financial assistance to the people of a village in Hyderabad rural where dozens of homes were gutted during a recent blaze.
“Bilqees Edhi gave me a sum of Rs800,000 for these people which I have come to hand over,” he told.
He announced that an Edhi hospital would soon be built in Hyderabad and that the work over the project would also start. The Edhi Foundation’s In charge of Hyderabad Muhammad Mairaj accompanied Edhi at the event.
LUMHS VC underlines importance of research: LUMHS has planned inter-universities visit for the undergraduates of the university so that they could know about the importance of research. The Vice Chancellor Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro Prof Dr Syed Mashoor Alam shah expressed these views while presiding over a meeting here at his office on Wednesday.
He emphasized the need of promotion of research activities in the field of medical science.
The Vice Chancellor called upon the medical graduates to do Ph.D. in their respective disciplines so that they could provide better medical care to the patients with the help of advanced research.
The research in medical science will not only enhance the capability of doctors, but it will also open new vistas of research in different disciplines, he added. He said that the university management has planned visits to other universities so that they could update themselves with latest research being carried out in other universities of the country.
He informed that the university management has also launched different projects for promotion of research activities and after passing out, the graduates of the university could play vital role in providing better health facilities to the society.
Commenting of the profession of nursing, the Vice Chancellor termed it an important profession and called upon the youth to get admissions in B.Sc. Nursing. After acquiring education, the graduates will not help the society, but also get jobs of Lecturers of BPS-16 and BPS-17 in nursing institutes of the country, he added.
Earlier, the Director Students Affairs Dr. Rasool Bux Behan briefed the Vice Chancellor about promotion of research activities in different disciplines of the field of medical science.
International conference on Lal Shahbaz Urs: An international literary conference will be organized on the occasion of 760th Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) in Sehwan, Jamhoro district. A meeting chaired by Director General Culture Department Rafique Ahmed Buriro with the Deputy Commissioner of Jamshoro Agha Suhail Pathan announced this decision on Wednesday.
The officials of culture, education and police departments also attended the meeting which was held to review the preparations. The meeting was informed that scholars of national and international repute will address the conference who will read their papers in English, Sindhi and Urdu languages.
Sughar Katchehri, musical night, wrestling and agricultural, industrial and cultural exhibitions will feature in the Urs celebration. The director general said the Culture Department would offer complete cooperation to the district administration.
The Deputy Commissioner said that failsafe security arrangements would be put in place to avoid any untoward incident. He added that adequate arrangement for traffic regulation would be made to avoid causing hardship to the devotees. Additionally, clean drinking water, health services and accommodation arrangements would also be made, he added.
