Women spy on their grooms-to-be

Is he getting cosy with his secretary? Is he a drug addict? As suspicion graph goes north, private detectives are hired to check the backgrounds of the grooms. More than men, it’s the women who are coming forward to employ sleuths to run a check. The owner of a detective agency, says, “Most of the enquiries are about marital issues. Post-marital investigation forms one third of all marital enquiries. Girls who come to us are interested in finding out about the relationship status of the guy, their habits and income.” A chartered accountant by profession, Raj (name changed) has been married for three years now. “Everything was okay for two years. But one day, my wife went to her mother’s place and didn’t return. I knew something was wrong and I hired a detective. It was revealed that she used to have an affair before marriage and had renewed her ties with the guy,” he recalls. A software professional says he was engaged to a girl for three months when she started avoiding his calls. On investigating, he found her involved with a man she met through a social networking website.
