City continues to bleed, 4 more killed

Bloodletting continued in various areas of Karachi as three more persons were killed while the police recovered bullet riddled dead body packed in a gunny from Kharadar area on Tuesday.
Hand and limbs of the deceased were tied with ropes and according to police the deceased was shot dead after brutal torture and later his body was dumped near Jamaat Khana in Kharadar. Two persons were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Korangi No.2
In Shershah Kabari Bazaar, unknown gunmen hailing from a bhatta group targeted traders for not capitulating to their demands, killing a man Kherat Ali and injuring the other.
The two men were the brothers of Shakir Ali, Sindh’s former lawmaker hailing from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). The firing incident triggered panic in the entire area.
Unknown miscreants kidnapped a police cop from Zero Point area in Sarjani Town. The abductee identified as Shakeel Baig was passing through the areas in official vehicle bearing registration number SP-0523. The police arrested ten criminals during separate actions in different localities of the city and recovered arms and stolen valuables from their possession. According to SSP Central Asim Qaim Khani, the police signaled to stop two suspected motorcyclists at Khawaja Ajmer Nagri check post but they started firing at police and tried to flee. In retaliatory fire, one culprit was injured. The police arrested the accused Zohaib in injured condition and his accomplice Muhammad Faisal and recovered two TT Pistols and a snatched motorcycle from their possession.
In Block VI of Gulshan-e-Iqbal the citizens caught three extortionists along with arms and handed him over to police. Four robbers barged into a house in Ghizri area of Karach and started looting valuables at gunpoint. The neighbours informed Rescue 15 police after which it reached the scene and arrested two robbers while their two accomplices managed to escape. The police recovered two TT Pistols and stolen valuables from the possession of detainees.
7 extortionists held: Unidentified miscreants shot dead a man in Korangi while police arrested seven extortionists overnight, officials said on Tuesday. According to police, some unidentified persons shot dead a man in Korangi No 2. The identity of the dead man was not yet known.
Meanwhile, police conducted raids in Sohrab Goth and Ahsanabad and arrested four accused. Police also recovered four pistols from their possession. 35 proclaimed: The Karachi police in their drive against criminals arrested 35 alleged criminals in different areas during the past 24 hours.
A police statement on Tuesday said that these included absconders and proclaimed offenders. It said that six police encounters also took place during the period in different areas of the metropolis. As a result of the police action, five gangs of alleged criminals were also busted, the police statement added. As many as 22 pistols, one rifle, one SMG, one dagger and three mobile phones were also recovered from their possession. The police have registered the cases and have started investigations.
