A Poverty stricken man who attempted to commit suicide through self immolation over poor financial position and debt, succumbed to his wounds in hospital. According to details, Khalid Mehmood resident of Manzoor Colony area was under pressure from the lenders to pay one million loan but due to poverty and low income he could not manage. He repeatedly sent applications to provincial government and charities to help him to pay debt but of no use. Some five days earlier he set himself ablaze after sprinkling petrol in front of Karachi Press Club and was rushed to burn unit of Civil Hospital in critical condition where he breathed his last in the wee hours of Tuesday. Funeral of the deceased was offered at Masjid-e-Khizra of Manzoor Colony.
