Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid President Shujaat Hussain has said the party will play an active and effective role in the next general election and will put its candidates on every seat after adjustment with other parties. Addressing the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organising committee at his residence on Monday, Shujaat said negotiations were in progress with other parties for the general election. He said the decision would be taken in consultation but the “party candidates will contest the election on our tickets and maintain their entity”.
He said conventions should be held at the division and the district level in order to organise and activate the party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said, “We are sticking to our commitment with the people of Hazara.”
Shujaat said in order to organise and activate the party in the province practical steps including reorganisation would be taken. He said party workers would be given responsibilities in the federal and provincial governments to ensure that they got their right status.
Addressing the meeting, PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed said the party was a national and democratic party and under the leadership of Shujaat it was maintaining its power and entity and had emerged as a major force.
He said the PML-Q had its track record, adding that it had provided relief to the people during its tenure and would take part in the next general election with a forceful manifesto.
Mushahid said the party had gotten the best team of talented people and had its roots in all four provinces.
Provincial organiser Nighat Orakzai said despite problems in the province, all possible steps were being taken to strengthen the party.
