Hundreds of workers, leaders and parliamentarians of the PML-N on Monday marched towards the Presidency from the National Assembly building as a token of protest against the “corrupt PPP government”. Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan led the rally. Security officials deputed along the route failed to prevent the PML-N workers from reaching the President’s House. The protesters chanted slogans against the government and marched on to the main gate of the Presidency.
Addressing the participants, Nisar said corrupt President Asif Ali Zardari and convicted Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani should quit office or else the people would not give them way to flee the country. He said the rulers should realize that PML-N workers had managed to enter the Red Zone and they should wonder what would happen if PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif gave a call for a long march. Nisar said the rulers had proved the worst rulers of the nation’s history, adding that they should step out of their air-conditioned palaces and see the miserable conditions the common man was living in.
