The Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered on Monday to remove the anti-terrorism clauses from the FIR filed in the Aslam Madhiana case.
The two-member bench of the LHC headed by Justice Manzoor Malik resumed the hearing of the Aslam Madhiana torture case.
The counsel of Aslam Madhiana, told the court that the case of torture of a schoolteacher was baseless while the police also included anti-terrorism clauses in the FIR against former PPP MPA Aslam Madhiana which was against the rules. He pleaded the court to remove these clauses from the FIR.
The prosecutor for the government told the court that Aslam Madhiana, along with his accomplices, brutally tortured a schoolteacher and also opened fire on him, therefore the anti-terrorist court could hear this case.
Reviewing the evidence after the completion of the arguments, the LHC ordered the removal of the anti-terrorism clauses from the FIR registered against Aslam Madhiana and directed the Sargodha sessions judge to complete the trial of the case within two months.
