Sindh Budget 2012-13: Key highlights
Pakistan Peoples’ Party led Sindh government would present budget 2012-13 with a totally oulay of Rs 577 billion today in the Sindh Assembly, according to media sources.
Source in the finance department said that total expenditure for the fiscal year would be around Rs 577 billion while total income from different sources is estimated at Rs 570 billion resulting in Rs 7 billion deficit.
Outlay for health and education sectors is estimated at Rs 49 billion and Rs 9 billion respectively with Rs 1 billion allocated for Chief Minister’s Hepatitis Program.
20% increase in the salaries and pensions of provincial employees is expected along with the creation of 15-20 thousand new jobs.
No taxes are expected in the current budget.
Balochistan Budeget 2012-13: Key highlights
Meanwhile, Balochistan government is also presenting a total outlay of Rs 180 billion budget 2012-13 in Balochistan Assembly, according to a private TV channel.
Sources said, the overall budget has been increased by 12 to 15 percent as compared to last fiscal year.
In line with the federal budget, the provincial government has decided to announce a 20 per cent increase in the salaries of government employees.
The government has decided to increase the funds for the MPAs from Rs 250 million to Rs 300 million and the legislators have been asked to identify development schemes in their respective constituencies.
The government will be enhancing its resources by increasing the existing provincial taxes and duties and provincial receipts are likely to be over Rs 5 billion.
Education, health, drinking water and communications sectors will receive priority in the development program.
