PNCA starts 3-month workshop for amateur artistes

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) here Sunday started three-month Summer Music workshop for amateur and young artistes with basic training of singing and instrumental music
The courses have been arranged by the Performing arts department of PNCA till August 9 to impart basics of music education to the young minds. Meanwhile, the Visual Arts section of PNCA has also started Summer Art Camps for children to offer exciting opportunity for budding artists for exploring their hidden talent.
The participants have been divided into two age groups 4 to 8 and 9 to 15 years old to experience and create drawing, paintings, sculpture, singing, dancing and many other forms of visual and performing arts.
The classes will continue till August 10 with opportunities for budding artists to get extra skills besides their regular studies.
These courses have been planned to introduce the young minds with basic training of drawing, use of pencil, sketching and paints while the performing art lovers will know about the skills to sing and dance, said Director General PNCA, Tauqeer Nasir, while talking to APP. The art camps have been scheduled with the objective to engage the youngsters in healthy activities and promoting art and crafts related techniques among the young generation by master artisans, he said.
Experts in these fields will conduct the courses to provide the students with techniques and theoretical training of the fine art subjects. These art courses are the regular feature of PNCA to facilitate art lovers, students and amateur artists for boosting their extra skills besides their regular studies, he said.
Floral art displayed for skin treatment: The Floral Art Society of Pakistan (FAS) demonstrated floral and vegetable arrangements to merge them with the treatment of skin through natural ingredients.
Around 50 members of the Society participated in the event to create floral arrangement by using tomatoes, aubergines and capsicums along with fresh flowers for decorations as well as to use them for skin repair therapy.
Dr Muneeza Rizwan, Dermatologist at Pakistan Air Force gave a presentation on use of tomatoes for damages skin while the participating women showed keen interest in the subject as the natural ingredients are affordable treatment for every women in terms of their skin care. Experts in floral art demonstrated on-the-spot arrangements through techniques of plant weaving and manipulation while the final outcome was decoration pieces blended with the touch of home remedies for skin therapy.
Talking to APP, Samina Khan, President FAS, Islamabad Chapter, said the society is a non-profit organization that works to promote healthy activities and involve participation of females in the field of creative art. All members of the society participate enthusiastically and display their creations using fresh flowers that combine their aesthetic sense and show love for nature.
The FAS aims at promoting goodwill at national and international levels and spread message of peace, understanding, sympathy, and tolerance among society through the promotion silent voice of floral art while it also collect donations for charity through demonstrations, workshops and other events to help the needy.
The events of FAS are a learning opportunity for every participant as the members who learn the techniques from various workshops internationally, share their experiences for local members to improve their skills, Samina said.
Colorful flowers not only freshen the mood but also leave healthier impact on viewers to refresh mind with the most vibrant glimpses of nature that also offer unique fragrances, she said.
