LEAD appreciation, acknowledgement ceremony held

Sindh Youth Affairs Department and Habib University Foundation (HUF) organised iLEAD appreciation and acknowledgement ceremony, an official of the Department said here on Sunday.
The ceremony was for the participants of the iLEAD teachers’ training programme. iLEAD is the Inspiring Leadership, Empowerment and Development in Youth.
Sindh Minister for Youth Affairs, was the chief guest of the event. In all, 21 participants from iLEAD partner schools and colleges were awarded certificates for their hard work and eagerness to learn innovative and effective pedagogies. iLEAD is a partnership project of Sindh Youth Affairs Department, and Habib University Foundation with technical support extended by the British Council. It aims at facilitating leadership, personal development, and active citizenship in youth from Hyderabad and Karachi, through sports and community service. The iLEAD curriculum focuses on facilitating the youth to acquire knowledge and skills, and to build attitudes essential to live a healthy life, which is characterised by a healthy self-concept, harmonious relationships with people around, consciousness for following moral values, and emotional maturity to deal with the challenges and diversity of life, besides having good physical health and fitness. Subzwari in his speech appreciated the innovative work done by the iLEAD team and Habib University Foundation by developing such curriculum and stressed on the importance of developing a healthy and positive mindset among the youth to pave way for a prosperous country. In the event, the participants of Facilitating Young Facilitators- a training programme organised by Youth Empowering Spaces (YES) and School of Leadership (SoL), were also awarded certificates by Youth Affairs Department.
