A woman tired of abject poverty jumped into River Chenab along with her three minor children on Sunday. Reportedly, 35-year-old Asia, wife of Hanif who runs a roadside hotel, jumped into River Chenab with her three children, Maria, 3, Ayesha, 2, and Faria, 5. Locals of the area rushed in to save the women and her children and managed to rescue Asia and Maria, however Ayesha and Faria drowned. The woman’s husband told Pakistan Today that minor quarrels over financial issues were a routine matter, but his wife had gotten stressed by the queries of debtors from whom she had borrowed Rs 3,000.
