Chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on human rights, Riaz Fatyana, on Sunday condemned the unfortunate incident in which five young women were gang-raped at Fort Munro. In a press statement, he called the border military police commandant, DCO and DPO of Dera Ghazi Khan to appear before the HR committee in the Parliament House on June 21.
Probe team reaches DG Khan: A four member investigation team reached DG Khan on Sunday and recorded statements of the five girls allegedly gang-raped by security personnel. According to an official handout, the team included additional IG police, home secretary, law secretary and Punjab CM’s special secretary. However, the police failed to arrest three policemen and their two companions allegedly involved in the gang-rape at Fort Munro.
