Edhi Foundation Lahore provided free treatment and medicines for 3,104 patients in its free dispensary situated at Allama Iqbal Town during last month. The foundation admitted 61 persons, including women and children, to Edhi Home Gulberg and Bilquess Edhi Home Township in which 45 persons were sent to their homes after searching their home addresses, EF spokesman said on Sunday. The foundation shifted 39 bodies and 117 injured persons to their homes from hospitals during different accidents in the metropolis. The volunteers of Edhi Foundation provided their services in shifting 4,446 bodies to hospitals from houses and vice versa.
Mujahid Squad arrested 201 criminals in one month: Mujahid Squad arrested 201 criminals and registered 158 cases against them besides recovering stolen property, illegal weapons and narcotics during the last month. During crackdown against illegal weapons holders, the force registered 59 cases against them and recovered 51 pistols, nine pump actions/rifles and hundreds of rounds, Mujahid Squad spokesman said on Sunday. The squad seized a huge quantity of narcotics including 7 Kg of hashish, 603 bottles of liquor from the possession of drug pushers. The force also arrested 20 proclaimed offenders and three court absconders during the same period, sources added.
