Pakistan People’s Party leader and senior lawyer Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday said he still believes that Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry is not responsible for his son’s doings.
Speaking to media at Lahore High Court, Ahsan said he had seen material evidence against Arsalan Iftikhar but won’t comment as the matter was sub-judice. He said he still believes today that Chief Justice had no role in this and whatever was done was his son doings.
Answering a question, Senator Ahsan said the CJ should not have sit in the bench, hearing his sons’s case. However, he distanced himself keeping in view public opinion.
Dispelling media reports about he wept upon seeing documentary evidences against the son of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, he said he was deeply saddened but did not cry.
He said he only cried over the deaths of his mother and Benazir Bhutto.
To a question, he denied having twitter account and said he even didn’t know how a message was posted on the social networking website. He said several accounts with his photograph were being run on the internet.
“I will inform everyone whenever I join twitter,” he added. “Arsalan has right to defend himself against allegations”.
