PML-Q leader and Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed on Sunday said the US apology over Salala attack alone will normalise Pakistan’s relations with Washinton.
In an interview with a private TV channel, he said Pakistan would not make any compromise over its sovereignty and national integrity. Therefore, he added bilateral relations were conditional to the US apology over Salala attack.
Mushahid said if the US could apologise to Afghanistan three times, why could not apologise to Pakistan.
Criticising the US president, he said President Barrack Obama in his four years tenure had failed to understand the situation in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
“The US must understand that Pakistan has changed, it won’t say yes to the US and won’t follow its dictation,” Mushahid said, adding, “The US has badly failed in Afghanistan and Iraq and due its failed policy in Afghanistan, it is pressurising Pakistan.”
He regretted the attitude of the opposition in the National Assembly during budget session. However, the PML-Q leader praised the attitude of PML-N leader Ishaq Dar and of the opposition leader in the Senate.
Talking about the approval of budget for the fiscal year of 2012-13, he said budget would be approved easily while the issues regarding appointment of the chief election commissioner and caretaker government would be resolved in a befitting manner.
To a question, he said the prime minister’s lawyer, Aitzaz Ahsan had skillfully defended Yousaf Raza Gilani in the contempt case.
To another query, Mushahid said people were not happy with the government due to price hike, load shedding, and energy crises. Therefore, he said, the people wanted change and PTI chief Imran Khan will cash the situation.
