300 new brothels emerge in capital

Prostitution is on the rise in Federal Capital as around 300 new brothels have been opened in addition to illegal pubs. According to sources, these brothels are operating in sector G-10, G-11, Shahzad Town, Burma Town, Alipur, Ghauri Town, Pakistan town, adjoining locality of Khanna Bridge, Shakaryal and Pak PWD Colony, especially in the jurisdiction of 3 police stations.
According to sources, the police station that covers areas also including Ghauri Town has made a strategy to eliminate all the brothels operating in the area without the distinction of old and new ones.
The police have also begun action against the old prostitution dens in Shahzad Town, leaving aside the newly established brothels, and have received appreciation from the high-ups. It is expected that minor action against the old houses of prostitution will continue in the coming days.
The local police are aware of the practice of prostitution going on in residential flats and bungalows in sector G-11, and a particular place is also told to have a group of 50 prostitutes. It is a favorite location of certain influential officials, sources said.
A spokesperson for the federal police has said that it resolves to take stern action against such criminals on priority basis and the high-level officials perform their duties with complete responsibility.
City govt chalks out plan to counter flood disasters: Under the direction of DCO Rawalpindi, Saqib Zafar EDO Municipal services and DO Solid Waste Management have reviewed the on going desalination process of Nullah Lai.
The city government has finalised flood plan in view of upcoming flood in moon soon season while cleanliness of nullahs and streams are being carried to counter the flood disasters, including the inundation of adjacent areas.
The DO Solid Waste Management has directed the Rawal Town authority to remove all kind of encroachments along side the bank of these Nullahs and streams Lai.
Girl commits suicide on failure in exam in Rawalpindi: A girl committed suicide in Dhok Kala Khan after she failed in her matriculation exam.
Nazia failed in Matric examination and took her life when her parents asked her to continue her education. Johnson, the father of the girl, told the police that he and his wife work in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences PIMS hospital and have 2 sons and 3 daughters.
He was in Islamabad for a congregation when his wife informed him that his daughter had failed in Matric examination.
They expressed their desire that she should study which made her take her life. She was taken to PIMS hospital but could not survive.
