In the unending wave of murders, at least six persons were killed and six others including women were injured in different localities of the city on Sunday.
According to police, unknown gunmen shot dead an activist of a political party identified as Sohail, 30, in PIB Colony. Violence erupted in the area after killing and the enraged protesters torched three vehicles in reaction to express their outrage.
In Golimar area armed men shot dead on person identified as Zubair, 24. His body was shifted to hospital for postmortem.
In yet another incident of firing at Maripur Road, one person whose identity has not been ascertained was killed.
Muhammad Anwar, 25, who was injured in firing of unknown miscreants in Pakistan Chowk area, expired in hospital during treatment.
Two including a woman were injured when unknown armed men opened fire at them in Qasba Colony.
In Malir City, robbers shot at and injured 38-year old Sadaqat upon resistance during robbery attempt in a bakery.
Four persons including two women and a young girl were injured in separate firing incidents in Pirabad, Baldia Town, Murid Goth and Orangi areas
Meanwhile, the police arrested four outlaws involved in street crimes, mobiles and purse snatching and other crimes during separate raids in Haidri and Taimuria areas. The police claimed to have recovered four TT Pistols, snatched motorcycles, ladies purses, four mobile phones, credit cards and ATM cards from the possession of the detainees.
