Punjab Assembly opposition leader Raja Riaz said on Saturday that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was responsible for the death of six infants that occurred in Services Hospital on Thursday. It should be mentioned here that six children died while 21 were burned as the nursery ward of the Services Hospital caught fire.
While talking to the media during a visit to the Services Hospital, Raja Riaz said the chief minister has the education and health departments under his supervision. “Both departments are rife with corruption,” he said.
Raja Riaz also said the parents of the victims should file cases against Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif holding him responsible for the deaths of their children as the CM also holds the office of the health minister. He added that people were dying from a shortage of medicines, adding that millions of rupees had been embezzled in the purchase of medicines.
The opposition leader said Shahbaz Sharif was staging a political drama at Minar-e-Pakistan by ignoring the administrative matters of the province.
Earlier, he also visited the ward where the injured children were undergoing treatment.
