Land records’ computerisation being expedited

The computerisation process of the land records of the BOR, in collaboration with the World Bank, is being expedited in the province.  The World Bank Mission visited different service centres established in Lahore under Project Management Unit LRMIS and expressed their satisfaction over this project. They also sought suggestions from visitors for improving the computer services. The land owners told the World Bank Mission that they were getting better services from these services centres and saving money and time while getting the documents. On this occasion, the Project and Operations directors informed the World Bank Mission about the pace of the computerisation of land records. They said the project has entered its final phase, under which, the land records of all the districts are being entered into computers.
They stated that the computerised services centres have started operating in 10 tehsils of the province while six more service centres will become operational by September 2012.
