Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said corrupt mafia was making heinous attempts to defame the chief justice and the Supreme Court.
He said the conspiracies against the chief justice would be revealed to the public, because the Supreme Court was the last hope for the people of Pakistan. He said trapping of Arsalan Iftikhar was planned to blackmail the chief justice regarding his decisions against the corrupt government.
He said the chief justice had set an example by removing himself from the bench hearing the case against his son.
Khan said it was the duty of the people and the media to reveal the face of those who were behind the demoralisation of the chief justice and the court.
He said President Asif Zardari and Prime Yousaf Raza Minister Gilani were harming democracy. He said the PTI was observing these negative acts of the government and would stand with the judiciary. Khan said the PTI would foil the plans of the corrupt government which it had made against the judiciary.
Earlier on Thursday, Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry decided to disengage himself from the bench hearing the case against his son for his alleged involvement in a Rs 340 million scam.
However, the CJP had remained steadfast in his conviction to protect the institution without any consideration that his son was one of the main characters in the plot that real estate tycoon Malik Riaz had reportedly fabricated to influence the cases pending against him in the Supreme Court.
At the onset of the hearing, the chief justice announced stepping down from the three-member bench and left the courtroom.
“I have faith in Supreme Court judges,” the chief justice remarked after Attorney General Irfan Qadir argued that the CJP could not be part of a bench hearing his son’s case.
The Supreme Court, however, ordered formation of a two-member bench to hear the case.
Talking to reporters outside the Supreme Court, Malik Riaz’s counsel Zahid Bukhari said the chief justice’s decision to step down from the bench was appreciable. Bukhari said Malik Riaz would appear in the court once he recovered and returned to the country.
Absolutely right Imran.
We the people of Pakistan will come out on the streets if we have to to ensure the law works. This is perhaps one of the darkest times for our country with the worst corruption & free reign of mafia, poor being totally ignored.
Zardari, Gilani & their men will pay for each crime.
With heavy heart I admit that Imran is not an upright person. He is also one of the power hunger fellow, with mouth watering to grab the P.M slot. In the process is uttering words which smell of his corrupt mentality, e.g in Lahore public meeting he uttered" Mian Gee jaan dio hoon saadi wari aan dio", speaks volumes about his corrupt intentions whenever he comes to power by deceiving the people. He is not only the member/supporter of corrupt mafia but is also an agent of yahood and hanood.
Ejaz (Mian ka Tattoo)
Shame on you for putting allegations on Imran. A holes like you are never happy in any situation. You seem like the representative of all the a hole politicians in Pakistan.
hahah ejaz sir with rulers like zardari, altaf and nawaz do you really think jews need to do anything?
Exactly right.
What conspiracy? If there is a conspiracy against the Cj then that is hatched by none other than his own son. He is the one who allegedly took favours and money from the business tycoon and by others. It is the CJ's own family members who enjoyed those luxurious foreign trips. It is the CJ himself who looked the other way when it was all happening. It is the group of four journalists who are considered to be most close to the CJ -Shaheen Sehbai, Ansar Abbasi, Shahid Masood, and Kamran Khan- who broke this story to the public. It is the PMLN and PTI politicians who are otherwise considered to be the most ardent supporters of the CJ who first spoke publicly about it. It is simply ridiculous to say that the PPP is behind this scandal. There is no conspiracy against the CJ and his family as they themselves and their greed is responsible for this state of affairs.
