A contempt of court petition was filed against President Asif Ali Zardari in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday.
Advocate Azhar Siddique submitted the petition in the LHC and stated that the court had passed a verdict against holding of two offices by the president. The president cannot hold the office of a political party (PPP) as co-chairman and the presidency at the same time under the constitution, he submitted.
The petitioner also said the president also holds most of the meetings of the PPP at the presidency. He requested the court to launch a contempt of court case against President Zardari.
