At least 24 people were killed when three passenger vehicles met fatal accidents in Muzaffarabad and Bhakkar on Saturday. Per reports, 12 people lost their lives when their van plunged into Neelum River in Muzaffarabad. According to rescue sources, the ill-fated van was on way to Patka from Muzaffarabad when the driver lost control and fell into Neelam River near Heer Kotli Cross. The injured and bodies of the deceased have been taken out from the river. In the other incident, 12 people were killed and 25 others injured when two buses on Mianwali-Muzzafar Garh Road collided head-on near Bhakkar. The accident occurred when a bus coming from Rawalpindi to Bhakkar collided with another bus coming from the opposite direction. Most of the dead belonged to Darya Khan tehsil of Bhakkar and its adjacent areas. According to rescue officials, the accident occurred due to over-speeding.
