Ten people were burnt in a fire at a garment factory in the Township area. According to officials, the garment factory, run by Khurram on Hamdard Chowk, caught fire due to short circuiting. The fire spread quickly due to the chemicals present in the factory burning the labourers working there. The injured labourers were immediately rushed to the hospital. Rescue 1122 firefighters reached the spot and managed to extinguish the fire after efforts of several hours. According to the factory owner, it is too soon to estimate the damage to his factory but he said all the expensive machinery and other items in the factory had been burnt, putting the estimated loss at millions.
