Railway says arrested officer no longer works with dept

The Pakistan Railways administration clarified that Naeem Malik had retired as the general manager for maintenance and services and was no longer a railway officer.
Clarifying a news item published in newspapers, it said on Friday that Naeem Malik had not retired as acting GM operations but that he retired on attaining the age of superannuation.
Newspaper reports said the National Accountability Bureau had arrested two railway officers including Naeem Malik and Ahsan Mahmood on charges of corruption.
It was also clarified that Ahsan Mahmood Mian was not working as additional general manager mechanical but was an officer on special duty (OSD) at the headquarters.
