Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that he and his government could not “even think of hatching a conspiring against the judiciary”. “The People’s Party has given more sacrifices than any other party for the restoration of judiciary,” he said during a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Acting Governor Nisar Khoro on Friday. During the meeting they discussed political situation in the country. Gilani said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) “always respected the courts and rendered sacrifices”. “How come we hatch conspiracies against the Supreme Court when we reinstate its judges,” Gilani said in an obvious reference to a recent campaign against Arsalan Chaudhry, son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
