LHC forms commission to probe Ravi pollution

The Lahore High Court (LHC) constituted a commission on Friday to probe the Ravi pollution case.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of LHC resumed the hearing on the Ravi pollution plea.
During the case proceeding, the petitioner’s counsel, Ahmad Rafay Alam, told the court that Ravi River is receiving wastewater from factories at several points, and that the rate of dumping was rising.
The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) told the court that several notices were sent to the factory owners but no action was taken.
The LHC constituted a commission headed by former Agriculture DG Dr Kausar Abdullah to probe the cause and the seriousness of the pollution problem.
