HRCP Sindh urges WASA to pay salaries to its employees

Vice Chairperson Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Sindh Amarnath Motumal has expressed grave concern over non-payment of salaries to employees of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), a wing of Hyderabad Development Authority since last five months.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Amarnath Motumal termed the non payment of salaries to WASA employees a serious violation of human rights and demanded immediate disbursement of salaries to them.
He said that it is the responsibility of the management of Hyderabad Development Authority and Water and Sanitation Agency to provide safety equipments to sanitary workers to protect their lives from any kind of eventuality.
He also underlined the need of accepting the genuine demands of workers such as payment of outstanding dues to retired and deceased employees, provision of regular jobs to sons of retired and deceased employees and confirmation of daily wage and contractual employees.
Neurosurgery Deptt named after Prof Aftab Qureshi: Vice Chancellor, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro Prof. Mashoor Alam Shah has announced the naming of the university’s Department of Neurosurgery as “Shaheed Prof. Aftab Ahmad Qureshi, Department of Neurosurgery.”
According to an announcement issued here on Friday evening, he said that decision has been made in appreciation of the meritorious services rendered to the medical education and ailing community by Shaheed Prof. Aftab Qureshi.
