Defence Police arrested two bandits recovering weapons, snatched mobile phone and cash NMC hospital on Friday.
As per details, two bandits were trying to flee in car number ADZ-217 after looting a mobile phone and 800 rupees from an old man when a patrolling police party from Defence Police Station reached on the spot and arrested two accused Amjad Ali and Zahid after encounter.
Police recovered two TT-pistols, cell phone and cash. The car was also snatched from the limits of New Town police station. Police have registered a case against the arrested accused and started further probe.
Yousuf Baloch selected chairman Senate standing body on petroleum: Senator Yousuf Baloch has been selected chairman for Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources.
According to an announcement here on Friday, Senator Baloch is a leader of Pakistan People`s Party and a close associates of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He is one of the members of a committee constituted by President Asif Ali Zardari for removing reservations of PPP workers in Lyari area.
