Cultural programmes of Pakistan Week to conclude today

The ongoing cultural activities of Pakistan Week will conclude here on June 9 at National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, Lok Virsa, with an award ceremony.
The cultural programmes were organized under the theme ‘United We Stand’ with the basic purpose to promote cultural values among youth which is the future of nation. The events focused on national heritage and integration and for this purpose, the federal capital was decorated through installation of 24 entrance gates on highways and busy roads, and roundabouts on various themes.
The other features of ‘Pakistan Week’ include exhibition of cultural heritage, art and craft bazaar, folkloric songs and dance performances, cultural evenings, traditional floats representing all federating units, stage plays, on the spot activities and special attractions for families and children.
On the concluding day of the week, the Ministry of National Heritage and Integration will introduce ‘National Cultural Award’ for the first time to acknowledge the services of people in the field of drama, music, film, arts, crafts, dance and other categories, said Khalid Javaid, executive director, Lok Virsa, while talking to APP. The event aims to integrate Pakistan’s rich culture and heritage in the masses not only to treasure our national heritage and to save it for our future generations but also to project real face of Pakistan across the border while showing a true and peaceful face of the country.
CPO holds open Kutchery at Adiala check post : On the special instructions of the Punjab chief minister, City Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokhar will hold open Kutchery at Adiala check posht in jurisdiction of police station Saddar Barooni.
The CPO will listen to the people’s complaints and issue directives on the spot to redress them.
Scrutiny body to probe allotment of plots in F-11: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal has taken notice of fraudulent allotment of 40 plots in F-11 Bheka Saidan.
In this regard he has formed the scrutiny commission, which would oversee the fraud in transfer and allotments of plots in F-11.
The CDA chairman would head the committee and its members including Director Estate Management Fasil Nisar Chaudhry, Director Land and Restoration Caption Fareed and Additional Director Estate Management (Effects) Taqi shah.
