Apathy or ignorance

At the end of one week, only 62,000 votes have been cast in the KBD referendum out of the millions who have access to computers and laptops. Is it mere apathy or rank ignorance? The print media has a big responsibility for having failed to educate public opinion on the necessity of mega dams and the dangers of not having them. Enough is being said about loadshedding and the many sources of energy that can be tapped to overcome it, but not a word on where will water come from to overcome food shedding. There is a pitiable lack of emphasis on the urgent need for dams which will give both power and water. Occasional editorials and letters are not good enough. What is required is investigative reporting by the newspaper correspondents along with articles from experts on the subject.
