Mohammed Hafeez became the 27th Pakistani and 204th player overall to appear in 100 or more limited-overs international matches. The first one-day international match of the five-match series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Thursday night (June 7) was Mohammed Hafeez’s 100th one day international match. Hafeez who made his international debut against Zimbabwe at Sharjah on April 3, 2003, took nine years and 66 days to reach this landmark. Angelo Mathews’ catch off Mohammed Sami was Misbah-ul-Haq’s 50th inn 98th innings of 99th one day international match. Umar Gul became the 11th Pakistani bowler to take 25 or more wickets against Sri Lanka in one day internationals. The right-arm fast-medium bowler from Peshawar achieved this feat in his match 18th by dimissing Tillakaratne Dilshan, caught by Saeed Ajmal. Umar Gul received his fourth man of the match award in 107 one day international matches. It was his maiden such award in 18 one day internationals against Sri Lanka.
