Over 44,000 children were immunized against polio during last four days in sub-immunization campaign at eight specific union council of Islamabad. As many as, 113 teams were constituted to achieve set target and District Health Department, Islamabad Capital Territory patronized this four-days anti-polio drive in eight specific union councils of Islamabad started on June, 4. In all, 99 mobile teams also visited door to door in remote areas. The health department set up seven fixed points and seven transit points in the specific union councils for the purpose. Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad, Amer Ali Ahmed monitored the daily progress of the campaign to ensure 100 per cent coverage.
IHCBA observes strike against murder of lawyer: The Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) on Thursday observed complete strike in protest against the murder of a lawyer Raja Ashraf Zamir in the Federal Capital. IHCBA President Syed Nayab Hassan Gardezi, talking to APP, said that the lawyers wanted a prompt arrest of the culprits involved in Ashraf’s murder and severe punishment to them. The lawyers did not appear before the court on Thursday except for in urgent cases, the president added.
