Karachi unrest: 4 more fall prey to target killing

At least four people were shot dead in firing incidents overnight in different parts of Karachi, officials said on Thursday.
According to the police, some unidentified persons shot dead two persons and injured another in Aram Bagh and Orangi localities of Karachi.
In another incident, some unidentified miscreants opened fire in Liaquatabad area and killed one man. The identity of the dead is not yet known.
Meanwhile, Rangers cordoned off entry and exits point of Cheel Chowk and Dhobi Ghat areas of Lyari and launched a targeted operation against criminals.
Rangers arrested 17 suspects during operation in Usmanabad, Dhobi Ghat, Cheel Chowk, Chakiwara, Kalakot, Mahmoodabad and Ramswami areas. Large quantity of arms was also recovered from the arrested people.
Rangers have shifted the arrested persons to some undisclosed place. According to the sources, the arrested people are being interrogated.
According to the Rangers, these operations were launched on the information provided by intelligence agencies. Armored vehicles also took part in these operations.
