A petition challenging the sentence of Dr. Shakeel Afridi was filed in commissioner’s court here on Tuesday which will be heard on June 21.
Talking to media persons, Samiullah advocate, counsel for Dr. Afridi said that Legal Aid Welfare Organization had submitted the power of attorney on behalf of Dr. Shekeel Afridi and also submitted a petition against Dr Afridi’s sentence for 33 years imprisonment.
It is worth mentioning that, Dr. Shakeel Afridi, accused of links to a militant group Lashkar-e-Islam, was awarded 33-year sentence by a court in FATA.
