An accountant pleaded guilty Monday in Manhattan federal court for providing money and computer assistance to Al Qaeda, Bloomberg Business week reported.
Prosecutors alleged that Sabirhan Hasanoff, 34, who holds joint U.S. and Australian citizenship, had been recruited by a second man in the case, Wesam El Hanafi, in 2008. El Hanafi has pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution said earlier that Hasanoff had “performed real and tangible work” to help fund Al Qaeda.
He was also accused of supplying Al Qaeda with computer-encrypted software.
