Hajj corruption case adjourned till June 9

The Special Judge central Rawalpindi on Tuesday adjourned the Hajj corruption case against former minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi till June 09.
Special Judge Central Rawalpindi, Mian Khalid Shabbir heard the case against the three who had been accused, including the former federal minister Kazmi.
During the proceedings, the evidence of the witnesses could not be produced owing to the absence of an accused former director general (Haj) Rao Shakeel Ahmad. The hearing was adjourned till June 9.
It should be mentioned here that in the previous hearing, Judge Khalid Shabbir indicted Kazmi, Rao Shakeel Ahmad and former joint secretary (Haj) Raja Aftabul Islam in the case. however, the three pleaded not guilty before the court.
Kazmi was charged with acquiring residential buildings for Pakistani pilgrims at exorbitant rates in Saudi Arabia in 2009, taking commission, and making advance payments in violation of the policy. Similar charges were framed against the other two as well.
