CIIT to hold symposium on sustainable environment tomorrow

COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) will organise a symposium on “Sustainable Environment for Socio-Economic Development” (SESD) on Wednesday.
The symposium, which also commensurate with the World Environment Day, is being arranged in collaboration with Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS)
The symposium’s aim is to create awareness of environmental challenges and to bring academicians, scientists, researchers and practitioners working in the sector of energy, climate change, water and land resource management, and law and policy, together.
It will be an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss the current status and the recent developments leading to sustainable environment for future generations.
Scientific community and experts will address to all issues related to environment and propose practical solutions related to the sustainability and the global environment for the socio-economic development.
Dean Faculty of Science, CIIT Dr Arshad Saleem Bhatti will deliver welcome address and Senior Advisor Climate Change and Development Planning Commission will present key note address on the occasion.
Arif Goheer from Global Change Impact Study Centre (GCISC) will speak on `Green Economy’ and Dr Faisal Saeed Syed from Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on `Winter Fog Variability Over South Asia and its Effects on Environment’.
Dr Syed Shahid Khan from International Islamic University Islamabad will speak on `Effect Water Pollution on Health and Environment’ and Dr Mona Lisa from Department of Meteorology CIIT will speak on `Land Slides Hazard and Environmental Intensity Scale for Azad Kashmir North-West Himalayas’.
