The National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) will hold a youth environment festival on Monday, as part of World Environment Day.
The mega event is being supported by Culture, Sports and Recreation Department of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA -Sindh), said a press release issued on Sunday. During the festival painting contest and exhibition, speech and tableaux contest will be held for school students. Cash prizes, mementos and certificate will be awarded to best performers. Administrator of KMC, Mohammad Hussain Syed will be the Chief Guest and Sindh Minister Environment Shaikh Muhammad Afzal will preside over the event. Sindh Secretary for Environment Mir Hussain Ali, NFEH President, Naeem Qureshi, Dr Kaiser Waheed will also make their respective presentation related to environment on the occasion. Moreover, a tree plantation campaign would also be initiated and students, NGOs, citizens alongwith celebrities would take part in the event.
NFEH president, Naeem Qureishi has also appealed to citizens to make efforts and turn their city clean and green not only on eve of environment day but during all 365 days of the year for a better tomorrow.
