Two Fulbright scholars join PUCIT

Fulbright scholars, Dr Imran Farid Khan and Dr Mehvish Irfan Poshni, have joined Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT). Both earned their MS and PhD degrees from Columbia University with high honours
Dr Khan and Dr Poshni have over 10-year combined industry experience that will prove extremely valuable for the students of the college. Dr Poshni is the first female PhD faculty member in the college. Dr Faisal Aslam has also become a part of PUCIT’s faculty. He is an HEC scholar with a PhD from the University of Freiberg, Germany. After completing his doctoral studies, he joined LUMS and taught there till joining PUCIT. He has 14 international publications and rich industry experience.
Dr Aslam has also supervised several master and bachelor level thesis at the University of Freiberg.
PUCIT Principal Prof Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar stated that the addition of these academics has increased the number of PhD teachers to an aggregate of 11. Since Dr Sarwar joined PUCIT, the college has seen a phenomenal rise in well-qualified PhD faculty from a total of one to 11. PUCIT has become the institution of choice for undergraduate education in the general area of IT. The addition of these scholars will help enhance the quality of PUCIT’s MPhil and PhD programmes.
