PPP not to violate ethics during Punjab budget: Basra

Pakistan People’s Party Deputy Parliamentary Leader Shaukat Mahmood Basra has said the PPPwill not violate parliamentary ethics during thepresentation of the provincial budget in the Punjab Assembly.
Talking to APP on Sunday, he said the PPP wouldprotest if needed but not be violent as it wanted to protect the system. “The PML-N is a production of dictatorship and democracy does not suit its leadership but the PPP is a true democratic party and it will not resort to undemocratic ways in the assembly,” he added.
He said the PPP was following the policy of reconciliation for saving the democratic system and it would continue its policy. “PPP leaders and workers have sacrificed immensely for democracy and it will not allow anybody to sabotage it,” he added.
He alleged the PML-N had its own undemocratic political agenda, its leaders were not democratic and they always used an apolitical course to come to power.
Basra said the PPP leadership had decided not to leave its democratic patience and PPP MPAs would ensure the dignity of the assembly during budget presentation.
PML-Q to avoid pandemonium during PA budget speech: Ch Zaheer: PML-Q Parliamentary Party leader in the Punjab Assembly Ch Zaheerud Din on Sunday said the party would avoid pandemonium in the Punjab Assembly budget session but it would opt for right criticism where needed.
“We believe in politics of decency and promotion of democracy in the country,” he told APP on Sunday.
He said fray and hooliganism by the PML-N parliamentarians during Finance Minister budget speech in the National Assembly was highly regrettable which, he said, the politically conscious people had rejected out rightly. He was of the opinion that elected representatives should had not go against their status. During a meeting, Ch Zaheer said that Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and PML-Q President Ch Shujaat Hussain agreed not to violate ethics during Punjab budget speech.
Another PML-Q leader, Ch Akram said, Nawaz-League leadership was opting to agitation aimed at shunning public criticism on its performance. He said, those boasting for long march were staging dramas to flee from long march. He said, PML-Q would listen to Punjab budget with patience but at the same time highlight flaws in the provincial budget where needed. Party MPAs Samina Khawar Hayyat, Khajida Umar, Seimal Kamran said Sharif brothers were the product of martial law and their approach towards democracy was myopic. They said whenever conspiracies were hatched against the country, PML-N took active part.
ANP lauds PPP decision on Punjab budget: The Awami National Party (ANP) has appreciated the decision of the Pakistan People’s Party to fully take part in the Punjab budget in good norms.
Talking to APP on Sunday, ANP General Secretary Ehsan Wyne said the PPP leadership’s step to fully participate in the budget would help strengthen democracy.
