Under the USAID-supported Gender Equity Program (GEP), Aurat Foundation and The Asia Foundation will award a series of sub-grants to local Pakistani organizations with the objective of affecting real behavioral change and contributing to a productive gender debate within Pakistan.
Aurat Foundation press release said on Sunday that various grant cycles will be advertised over a five year period ending August 2015.
The program is envisioned to impact on a national level, they said and mentioned that sixth grant cycle under Gender Equity Program, “Combating Gender Based Violence” (GEP sixth grant cycle) will offer different types of grants.
These would also include establishment of psycho-Social and legal counseling units in 6-10 Private Shelters (Sub-grant no. 131: Sindh -3 sub-grants up to $30,000); Facilitating economic rehabilitation of GBV survivors (Sub-grant no. 139: Sindh 3 sub-grants up to $45,000); Advocacy and information dissemination campaign (10 sub-grants up to US$ 35,000 each. sub-grant no. 154: Sindh (2 sub-grants up to US$ 35,000).
