The present democratic government is taking several steps to empower the women of the country especially those of Sindh. This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Women Development, Ms. Taqueer Fatima Bhutto, in a statement here on Sunday.
She said that increase in governemnt service quota from 2 percent to 25 percent is one of the major steps that is ever taken by present government for the socio-economic empowerment of the women.
The Minister pointed out that increase in quota for women would provide them opportunities to grow in the society and would enable them to empower themselves. She further stated that women are essential part of the society, we can not make progress unless we take them on board.
Ms. Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto said that our Shaheed Quaid Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had the vision to empower the women and present governemnt is working to fulfill her dreams. She said Pakistani women have the potential to serve the country in every field of life. Today Pakistani women are working in Pakistan Armed forces and serving the country on the borders, she added.
The Minister said that Islam has given the opportunity to the women that they should work for their family within the limits given to them.
