At least 10 suspected militants, including two important commanders, were killed when a US drone fired missiles at a compound in Wocha Dana locality in Beermal area of South Waziristan Agency on Sunday. Reports said a large number of militants were present in the compound of Commandar Malang at Beermal, adjacent to Pak-Afghan border in Wana, headquarters of South Waziristan. The militants were condoling death of Malang’s brother who was killeds in Saturday’s US drone attack. Official in Wana said the US drone fired four missiles, destroying several portions of the compound. At least 10 people were killed and several others injured. Commander Malang and Commander Ghulam Khan included those killed. It was the second US drone attack in the region dominated by Mullah Nazir in the last two days. Mullah Nazir entered into an agreement with government in March 2007 and has been since leading the pro-administration peace Lashkar in Wana. According to such agreements, militants would not attack government installations, security forces, officials and pro-government tribal elders, while the government would not intervene in activities of the militants.
