Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer said that as many as 37,412 emergency victims were rescued by the emergency service during May 2012.
The emergency data revealed that the service has rescued over 37412 victims of emergencies while carrying out 38,613 rescue operations during last month in 36 cities of Punjab, while maintaining its average response time.
The DG, chairing a meeting held to review performance of the emergency operations of all the districts of Punjab, said that it was being observed that the numbers of emergencies are increasing day by day.
The Rescue 1122 responded to emergency 13186 calls, road traffic accidents, 21,390 medical emergencies, 1790 fire incidents, 61 building collapse incidents, 1950 crime, 98 drowning incidents, 129 special rescue operations and nine explosions.
The 38,613 rescue operations in the month include 6,973 rescue operations in Lahore, 3,904 in Faisalabad, 2,929 in Multan, 2,505 in Gujranwala, 1,497 in Bahawalpur, 1,166 in Rawalpindi, 1,382 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 1,180 in Sargodha, 814 in Rahim Yar Khan, 1,260 in Sahiwal, 1,146 in Sialkot, 425 in Murree, 1,360 in Jhang, 545 in Toba Tek Singh, 701 in Muzafargarh, 491 in Rajanpur, 503 in Mianwali, 630 in Pakpattan, 678 in Kasur, 447 in Gujrat, 649 in Bahawalnagar, 306 in Jhelum, 711 in Attock, 660 in Khanewal, 423 in Vehari, 301 in Chakwal, 657 in Okara, 542 in Hafizabad, 682 in Sheikhupura, 749 in Lodhran, 356 in Nankana Sahib, 372 in Khushab, 295 in Mandi Bahauddin, 531 in Narowal, 397 in Layyah and 446 in Bhakkar.
The Emergency Service, Rawalpindi responded to 1,166 emergencies and rescued 1,052 victims of different emergencies in May.
The Rescue Service responded to 522 road traffic accidents, 89 fire incidents, 34 crime calls, three drowning incidents and 512 to medial emergencies in district Rawalpindi.
