Completion of Cardiology Institute before 30th ordered

The authorities concerned have been directed to accelerate pace of construction work at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) so that the new building could be inaugurated on June 30, the date fixed by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The meeting of the steering committee of Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) was held here in the medical superintendent’s office. It was decided that the demand note of IESCO for the connection of electricity would be deposited before June 10 to avoid any inconvenience and delay in getting electricity connection.
The meeting was chaired by Steering Committee Chairman MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and attended by MS Dr Shoaib Khan, DHO Dr Khalid Randhawa, NESPAK Resident Engineer Muhammad Hanif Khokhar, contractor firm’s director, Masud Qureshi and representatives of IESCO. The meeting was told by IESCO officials that the stores of the IESCO would be closed from June 10 and after that date it was very difficult to issue the material, therefore, demand note for electricity connection must be deposited before this date.
The meeting directed the director of the contract firm to make necessary arrangements in this connection at the earliest. It was also decided that a meeting of the steering committee would again be held in RIC on June 13 to review the progress in the matter.
The steering committee chairman directed the firm to get the design of electrical subdivision by June 4 from the department concerned and construction of the building should be started immediately after the receipt of the design. Hanif Abbasi directed the contract firm to apply for the telephone connections immediately so that the approved telephone connections could be installed before the inauguration of the new building of RIC by June 30 as already announced by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
It was also decided that the revised load of electricity for the ongoing project of RIC should be submitted by June 5 after getting approval of the consultant company, NESPAK. Abbasi directed the PHA to visit the RIC building and finalise the horticultural designs for planting plants and grass with the consultation of the NESPAK resident engineer and the contract firm director so that the greenbelts of RIC should be developed as early as possible.
