One of the premier comedians of Pakistan, Nanna was remembered on his death anniversary on Saturday. His real name was Rafi Khawar but he was commonly known as Nanna and was a renowned comedy actor of Pakistani films and Television. His first Urdu film was Watan ka Sipahi, released in 1966. He went on to work in over 350 films in Urdu and Punjabi. He was regarded as an exceptional comedy talent and for many years was the star of the hit TV show “Alif Noon” that ran successfully during the 70s and 80s. Nanna committed suicide on June 2, 1986.
