Four Dadu-based peasants Friday threatened to commit self-immolation over alleged prosecution of a local landlord.
The four persons, including a woman, climbed a tree in front of Islamabad press club and threatened to set themselves on fire.
Police 0fficials reached the scene and persuaded them to climb down.
Dad Hussain, one of those four, belongs to Khairpur Nathan Shah of Sindh. He said his complaint against the atrocities of a landlord has not been heard for five months, forcing him to travel to the federal capital for self-immolation.
Family of Hussain was also present at Islamabad press club. They said that a landlord had occupied their land and accused them of karokari.
Dad Hussain, Tufail, Imam Din and a woman climbed the tree carrying petrol-filled bottles. After much cajoling, they were brought down.
