Police gear up security for budget session

The Islamabad Capital Territory police have made comprehensive security arrangements in the city for the budget session.
The police sources said security had been tightened in the city and extra deployment was also made in various areas to avert any untoward incident. Contingents of rangers are also assisting Islamabad police in these security arrangements.
Combing has been ordered in the slum areas while extra vigilance is being made at bus stands and other public places. Extra deployment of police personnel will be ensured at important locations of the city, including chowks and signals.
Police commandoes have been deputed around sensitive locations and important buildings while special police teams have also been constituted by each police station for effective patrolling in its respective jurisdiction.

IGP Bani Amin Khan and SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik have issued special directions to all senior police officials to conduct checking themselves at all police pickets in their areas and make the security system more effective.
They have also ordered effective coordination among all wings of Islamabad police, including operational police, CID Department, Security Division and Special Branch. Sniffing dogs have been sent at police pickets for effective checking of vehicles.
Special search of the forest and green belts of the city has been also ordered. Women commandoes are also performing security duties while policemen have been deputed at important signal points of the city.
Bani Amin Khan has appealed to the citizens to remain extra vigilant and inform police in case of observing any suspect.
IIUI examinations start today: The examinations of all classes of the International Islamic University (IIU) will start on Thursday (today) and continue till June 25.
Meanwhile, the IIUI has purchased three more buses to facilitate its students. The buses will provide pick and drop to the students within the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and suburbs.
